Week Three: Research into effects of rubbish in sea

The design team at MastersDegree.net have produced these eye catching info-graphics depicting astonishing facts about ocean pollution and the impact it has on the food we consume, showing that by polluting our oceans we are in fact setting ourselves up to eat our own trash. This work demonstrates how design can be used to make complex information comprehensible and at the same time visually stimulating.

This work also highlights a current debate about the actual size of the Pacific Ocean Garbage Patch, which seemingly grows or shrinks depending on reports. One thing is for sure whatever its size it should have no place in our oceans or on our plates.

We are littering to much and it is killing marine life and ruining  our environment.

 Local people teamed-up to picked up over 80,000 pieces of trash from the beaches of Auckland’s North Shore.The next year the same beaches were cleaned and there was twice as much rubbish during  that event 16 schools around the north shore  including Vauxhall School, Rosmini College, Torbay School and Mairangi Bay School.Here is a chart that shows the top 10 items that are found in the ocean
