Week Four: Feedback and Progress

After speaking with Tim we gained some very useful feedback to both refine our project and develop it further. From here we then brainstormed ways we would take this feedback and apply it to our project elements. Below is both the feedback and the ideation based on it.

Website:

-we can't do our original idea of having a fixed left hand side panel for our navigation, so we need to re-think this positioning, and put it at the top.
-To reinforce this idea of by going to the clean up you are helping fix the issue of 'your food being plastic' we could have a hover element on the page where the 'rubbish' fish on the menu page turn into real fish when you hover over them
-Re-work ingredients page, it is a little disjointed from menu, maybe change it to recipe, then explain that those items are the recipe you need to turn those plastic fish into real fish. Recipe is the process.
-The concept of fish being plastic should front and centre, you want this to come across really strong.

Poster:

-You could go real or unreal with the style of the poster. But because the direction you are going in with your project concept is quite shocking and serious, using real photographs for your poster will have the best effect and best suited. This will also speak to your audience the best too
-Buy fish and chips and take real photograph.
-Overlay some chips over the fish-more realistic
-Create more of a fish and chips scene, add some other elements i.e squid rings, aioli?

Flyer:

-Create more of a booklet, foldout.  One side will be informative pages, and a certificate page that has a barcode and area that gets signed, the barcode will then entitle you to a meal from the food truck.
-the informative pages will be like info on rubbish effects on your food, tips pages and maybe something food related, recipe?

Example of fold out booklet.

For information design we made a fold out booklet that had a poster on one side and information that folded into the booklet on the other, therefore I know how to do it. This is the final print layout and instruction layout.

Food Truck:

-One side of the food truck have real fish and on the other side have a plastic fish. On the side that has the window have a real fish as if to say that what they have contributed to today is getting them closer to having real fish and on the side that faces the road have the plastic fish
-place finished truck in situ, with both sides showing people shocked at the plastic fish and happy at the real fish.
-place food truck in other situations, like the street etc to show how its a promotional concept too.
-have it as a feature on the website.
-update "on route" section to show images of the truck at beaches all over new zealand  to symbolise the clean-ups the truck has visited
-also have a map section with a map to show where the food truck has been and what effects its had. We can show this by having the backgrounds image in the see all real fish to the point the truck has got to and then the plastic fish pattern after where the van hasnt quite reached yet.
-Add some microphones to the truck
-have a feature on the website of "book in the truck" where communities can book in the truck for their beach clean ups.
-have the dates of the clean up on the back of the truck.
-For the menu on the truck, have the plastic fish names from the website, but have real descriptions and then underneath a message saying "due to lack of plastic, thanks to you, all fish are substituted for fresh fish"

Brand:
-Ditch sand hands and make brand dig in aswell
