Week Three: Design Developments

Now that we had formed a bit of a plan in thumbnail sketches, we decided to go digital and start experimenting with how we could render these thumbnails. First we needed to establish the new poster design concept in order to grasp our style and aesthetic, this way we could use this as the base for the design and aesthetic of the other elements (flyer, open format, website), to ensure we create a cohesive 'look' across all elements.

Based on feedback we went for a fish and chip concept.

Below are some shots we used for inspiration and working screenshots...
This was our first attempt, then second......

This is still the very base of the poster, with text to be added, plus further editing. Still not quite happy with these, so there is some refining to do. However it was good to establish a bit of a 'look' so that we could move on a begin some designing of the other elements.

From here we went into designing our open format element, as we were quite eager to see how it could pan out. We started in Adobe Illustrator to create a template for the truck.

From here we then looked for some existing food trucks that we thought were effective and also that were following a similar style to what we were going for.

We then moved into Adobe Photoshop and began to render our food truck.

This is what we have come up with so far

Lastly, we begun our flyer, with some experimentations into making a pattern with the fish, and how we could incorporate the logo and the fish together.

Below are some screenshots of the various concepts we tried. Still yet to decide and develop. Next we will look at designing the back of the flyer.
