Week Six: Final Transmedia platforms
The Poster: For the poster we looked at confronting individuals with an image of fish and chips which they all know and love, where we then swapped out the fish with a plastic fish to communicated the issue that rubbish and littering is affecting the sea-life and in turn the seafood that we eat. The poster is to be received prior to the event, where it would be set up around town to get people attention and tell them about the event. The poster also includes a link and prompt for people to visit our website.
The Website: The website is a continues the slight gourmet/foodie scenario, where we have set it out as if it where a website for a restaurant, including aspects such as a menu and recipe page. This is to reinforce this message that rubbish is affecting the seafood that we eat. This is to be visited both prior and post the event, its really up to the individual. We have the hover over feature on this to represent the action of the beach clean up and the affect it had on our seafood, where this is appropriate for both situations. If people visit the site before the event, the hover over which turns our plastic sea-life species into real sea-life on the menu page shows that if the individual comes to the event they will help contribute to this change. If the individual visits the site after the event, its more of a reassurance that the work they have done has helped make this change.
The Flyer: For the flyer continued this foodie style. The inside of the flyer provides information on how rubbish is affecting our appetite for seafood, top tips how to help this issue and also a final page which had a voucher-like area for our open format item, the food truck. It also folds out to have a poster on the back. The flyer is to be given to the individual during/ at the end of the event. Once the event is over the individual takes the flyer to a dig in representative, where they will then sign off the voucher section of the flyer, which enables the individual to get a complimentary meal from the food truck. The reverse of the flyer also has a poster, which is the same scene as our first poster, however the plastic fish has returned to being the real fish, this is to symbolise the contribution they have made to the issue.
The Food Truck: For our open format item we chose to do a food truck. We chose to do this as it ties into the foodie theme that we have across our transmedia platforms. The food truck acts as a bit of a reward, where a voucher is included in the flyer to allow the individual to get a meal from it. The food truck menu also links in with the menu page on the website, where we have used the plastic species, but provided real meal descriptions for the food truck. There is also a further message in the design choices of the truck. The side of the truck that faces the street, and the individuals coming to the event, has the plastic fish scene on it as if to confront people to come help. Whereas, the side of the truck that faces the beach and where the food is given out of, has the real fish scene. This is to say thanks to your help you have contributed to the issue, where your help can help make our seafood dishes rubbish free.

Week Six: Responding to critique
In today's class we gained feedback on elements of our project. We found that the changes where quite minor, and that we get them done easily before presentation. This is good for us, as we can gain some final feedback tomorrow, and then we will be ready to print.
We first made the alterations to the flyer.
We looked at trying different font weights, between roman and light, where we chose roman as we are working with a dark background, so a light weight would merge with the background when printed.
we then created hotspot around the pop-up box so that you could click anywhere around it to go back to the original page.

We used a chalk brush to create the linking lines
along with the images
Below is are the developed spreads for the flyer.
The food truck:
We took out the brand logos on the rubbish species
The website:
We started working in invision with our Adobe photoshop files.
We have created a hover aspect to our menu page, where if you hover over the plastic species they turn into the real sea creature. This aspect is to create this idea that through the action of coming to the beach clean up or even making the effort to coming to the site shows that you are already making a positive effect toward this issue.
We cut out images of sea life to be our hovers, where we created pngs in Adobe photoshop and placed them over our original menu page to make sure that they were in the perfect position.
Here is a live example of where we have made the hover in invision, so when you over the rubbish plapper, you get the real snapper.
On our create an event page we created we created an area for downloads on the create an event page for each of our elements.
we then created hotspot around the pop-up box so that you could click anywhere around it to go back to the original page.

Week Five: Project developments
Based on the feedback that we gained at last week's class, we developed our posters, the flyer and the food truck. We also did print tests of these to see the result, checking minor details like the sizing of things. This advanced us in our project by enabling us to get an idea of what the final product would look like, and what we can improve on. This process is effective because we can get too used to looking at our work on the screen and not in actual size, so it was good to see parts of our project to scale and full size. We also made sure that we put the love your coast and absolutely wellington logos onto each of our designs.
We first looked at developing the flyer. We worked with the fonts and creating a heirachy to make it more structured, other changes were made by following our critique notes. Once we where happy with the design and composition we then did some print tests. The flyer set up that we are creating requires two sided printing and correct positioning. We set this set up on Indesign to print, where the first print didn't fold properly due to the fact that we chose short-side binding. on our second print we chose long-side binding and it printed perfect. This process was effective because we wee able to see how the printing works and also w would have a prototype to take to the printers to ensure that nothing goes wrong on the final print in terms of set up.
Below are each of the developed spreads for the flyer booklet.
Below are the two pdf ready for printing. When we take them to the bureaus we will ask them not to chop the bleed of and leave the SRA3 un cropped as we need a bit of overhang when we attach the two pieces of paper together. Once the two pieces are attached we can then crop the booklet once its been folded to ensure a clean cut booklet.
Lastly we worked on the food truck:

And here is the poster for the fold out inside of the booklet.
Once we had set up the pdf it was ready for printing. Below is the result of the second printing with the long-side binding. We were very happy with the result.
Here is the flyer completely unfolded.
Side 1: Information- front side
Side 2 : Poster- back side
We also developed the poster based on our feedback.
Once we printed it out to size, we then put it up on the wall, where we stood back from a distance to see any areas that we thought needed to be edited and to also get an idea of sizing. This was effective, much like the flyer, because we got to see the design to size and not just on our small screens. So we could check aspects like resolution and sizing of fonts. We sticky-noted critique that we had and soon after made the changes to the document on our computer.
Further developments were also made to the website, where we made some changes to make it more structured and create a cleaner composition.
Below are the latest visuals, we only had the navigation and logo on one so that we can duplicate that one page's background when putting it into invision to ensure that it stays in one place the whole time.
