Week Two: Key focus ideas for beach day clean up

For our project we are thinking about focusing on beach aesthetics or the effects on 

marine animals.

Beach aesthetics mood board:

For the idea of beach aesthetics we want to put a focus on keeping our beaches looking beautiful and clean. To promote the beach clean up day we could show contrast between a clean rubbish free beach and a beach covered in rubbish, we could also show just how one piece of rubbish can tarnish the beach. E.g if we were to replace the starfish with a piece of rubbish in the image of the beach above on the top row, the entire feel and look of the beach would be changed. By drawing over nice images of beaches puts emphasis on the fact that the rubbish is a man made problem that doesn't belong there. Water colour could be used as it ties in with the theme of the ocean. 

The idea that we were going for with these posters was to show that rubbish is a man made problem that ruins the appearance of beautiful beaches. The idea of the illustrations was to run off the idea that from far away beaches may not seem to filthy and full of rubbish, but as you look closer you can see that there is actually a significant amount of rubbish on our beaches. 

The two tag lines are :

"Want to swim amongst this?"
"It won't wash away on it's own" 

These were used to promote people to help with the clean up.
