This angle is directed towards humans and how we are quite selfish, in terms of how we think about ourselves more than other creatures, especially when it comes to the food chain, where we sit above sea creatures like fish and lobster. Therefore when it comes to getting people involved, if we take this angle, where we show them how it might effect them personally, it might ring true to them. Furthermore, people tend to think with there tummies, so visuals that include food are quite alluring, this being a good technique to lure people in.
To get an idea of ways we could design this idea we researched some visuals to provide with some inspiration into typography, style and other visual elements.
From here we looked into creating some of the visuals that are in our initial thumbnail sketches.
We used Adobe photoshop to create different types of sea creatures that humans consume out of various plastics. The ones circled are the strongest.
We also created some further visual elements to include in the poster design. This included mostly liquid effects, which I created using bevels and embossing.
Another element we looked at creating was the logo to include in the poster
We then experimented with numerous variations of both the idea/concept and the poster's composition and style itself.
Once positioned all together, as so, we can see where the influences come from and how we have implemented them into our own design.
The digitally rendered concepts:
They could be displayed or kept as a series, or we could look into choosing the most successful one and developing and refining that one.
